This pendant is named Coleoptera after the iridescent wings and bodies of some beetles found in nature.
Depending on how you hold the piece it will appear a deep bluish purple to a bright magenta color.
When held up to the light it is a translucent pink.
The cabochon is made from fused Dichroic glass by Amalie Dorn.
Just over 18 feet of Fine Silver wire is delicately woven around the cabochon adding to its unusual beauty.
The bail on the pendant is large enough to accommodate a neck ring, cable or chain.
The overall dimensions of the piece are 1.7" x 1.4" not including the bail.
